The journey....

Good morning!

So I have an exam in accounting in a few hours so I'm about to run through these practice exams once more, but I just wanted to share some news about my journey to healthy living with my followers. I'm a perfectionist, but I also understand that I will never be perfect no matter how hard I try- doesn't mean that I don't try though. Lately I have been having this feeling of guilt after eating the foods I love. I feel bloated and ultimately, like I gained so much weight on the spot. I have been feeling really down on myself about my appearance and I know that I am the only one that can truly change what I want to change.

My roommate Morganne is a bit of a health analyst and she is always seeking ways to live a healthy life. She recently started reading this book about beauty detoxification. Long story short, the author speaks about how humans are in close relation to monkeys and monkeys are vegetarians. Don't be alarmed, it's not talk about evolution (for those of you who clearly separate yourself from animals) but you would have to read the book for more details. It's about how many of the strongest animals don't include meat in their diet. Often times we are taught that we HAVE to eat meat because that's the best source of protein. I know you can't believe everything you read, but you also can't believe everything you hear. I am ready to start my journey to radiant and blemish-free skin and I body that I am comfortable in. Now I'm not completely overweight, but I'm beginning to notice weight in areas that make me feel uncomfortable (my stomach). As women, the last place that you want to pack on is your stomach. I wasn't given the Kim Kardashian gene so I have to take different measures. But anyways, today marks my first day into the vegetarian lifestyle. Please, if you are a vegetarian and you know some great ways to maintain and eat great tasting food, send your positive energy this way. I would appreciate that!

see ya,
Chelcie

  1. Hi Chelcie!

I was a vegetarian for 10 years. It's tough, be sure you're eating a lot of raw fruits and veggies, and don't load up on processed carbs just because you're excluding meat from the diet. I did that and I still wondered why I wasn't losing weight. Now I'll eat chicken/fish/cheese/dairy on occasion but keep my simple carbs low. That has helped me keep my weight down a bit. Contact me if you'd like to know more. Love your blog, found it randomly on ifb and had to comment. Please feel free to visit my blog, http://lepetitvolcan.tumblr.com. Follor me and I'll follow you back, I like your content! Thanks, love! Keep up the good work!

  2. Cutting the meat out, won't help you loose weight and it's not necessarily healthier. I used be 98 pounds when I came to USA 3 years ago, last summer I reached 120, now I managed to get to 105 just by cutting the sugar, this is the worst enemy in our alimentation. Try and do it for 2 weeks, you'll notice the difference right away, but no sugar means: no fruits, no soda, no bread, no rice, no fries, no dressings for salads just olive oil and lemon, anything that has sugar. It can be a bit tough at the beginning, I didn't think so honestly, but you can see the results right away. This is definitely healthy there are people who gave up on sugar for life just like vegetarians quit eating meat.
    Kisses,Dia.
